Veterinary Assistant – Anesthesia & Appointments, 4-Day Week

We’re seeking an experienced Veterinary Assistant who can independently run appointments and support safe anesthesia. Responsibilities

• Lead appointments independently: triage/history, vaccinations, anal gland expressions, nail trims, client communication
• Prepare patients and monitor anesthesia under veterinary supervision; maintain safety checklists
• Safe restraint, IV catheter placement, venipuncture; administer medications as directed
• Perform IDEXX in-house diagnostics and maintain accurate medical records
• Keep exam, treatment, and surgical areas clean, stocked, and organized; assist with instrument care

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Veterinary Assistant running appointments independently
• Competence in anesthesia monitoring, restraint & IV catheter placement, and venipuncture
• Experience with IDEXX in-house lab testing
• Calm under pressure with clear, professional client communication
• Able to lift 40 lb safely and collaborate in a fast-moving environment
• No license required; experienced candidates only

Schedule

• Four 10-hour shifts (4×10s): 8:00 AM–6:00 PM with a one-hour lunch
